Zonta Says NO

2024 Light Up Orange for the International ZONTA Says NO to Violence Campaign is in full swing.

The Zonta Says NO to Violence Against Women 12th Annual Campaign for 2024 commenced with a launch event by Christchurch South at the Art Gallery on Thursday 21 November.

The International campaign runs from 25 November to 10 December and this year the Zonta presence will be seen in most libraries throughout Canterbury (from Selwyn to Amberley) and Marlborough, on billboards, and across the city. At night a number of significant buildings and architectural features will light up “ORANGE” for the duration of the campaign.
“Orange ladies”, orange doors plus pamphlets and bookmarks went into most libraries throughout the Christchurch area.
The big impact Zonta Says NO to Violence Against Women was displayed on the rotating billboards at various locations throughout the city.
Lighting Up made a statement: A Magical Orange Tour of the City was held on Tuesday, 3 December and Wednesday, 4 December.

Zonta Christchurch North is selling PERPETUAL EVENT Calendars at $15 each as our fundraiser for ZSN Campaign 2024. These calendars are for recording birthdays, anniversaries and other special events that happen in your life on an annual basis and once filled in, they will last you forever. You only have to remember to turn the page each month. No more forgetting that important birthday or anniversary. These calendars will make great presents for family, friends, neighbours and work colleagues.

From Zonta International President:

Like you, I envision a world where no woman or girl lives in fear of violence. 25 November 2024, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the #16 Days of Activism started, and ended on 10 December, 2024, the International Human Rights Day. With the #16 Days of Activism and Zonta Says NO to Violence Against Women campaign, it was a time for us to show the world what Zonta is doing to make a better world for women and girls a reality.
Already, Zontians are reporting their actions on how they are saying NO in their communities. This is fantastic, but we need the entire Zonta world to share what great work we are doing in order to show how important Zonta is to realizing a violence-free, gender-equal future.
As stated in the Strategic Plan, we need to be more courageous, louder and unapologetic with our actions to position Zonta for the future. I want to see every member and club, area and district to participate in our Zonta Says NO efforts and report their actions via Share Your Story. When every Zontian says NO, only then can we truly build a better world where no woman or girl lives in fear of violence.
To find ideas and inspiration for you to take your Zonta Says NO actions to a new level, I encourage you to use the Zonta Says NO sixteen days of Activism Toolkit. Every action counts and every Zontian can make a difference.
Let us continue to stand united in our mission to end violence against women and girls all over the world. Your unwavering support is a beacon of hope that inspires us to keep pushing forward in this important cause!

Warm regards,

President Zonta International and Zonta Foundation for Women

Every day is a new beginning. Take a deep breath, SMILE, And start again!
